Drawer Insert for Silverware

This insert is for our place in Arizona. There is currently a plastic "Rubbermade" silverware holder  in the drawer and it is too short for the new silverware my wife bought, plus it does not utilize the full inside of the drawer. This insert is within an 1/8" of the inside dimensions. It is 9 7/8" x 10 1/4" and 2 3/4" high,
I made it out of 1/4" and 3/8" solid cherry with a maple plywood bottom. I cut the wide finger joints on the band saw and they fit pretty well. It is nice to be back home on my equipment. It is finished with satin lacquer.

I always enjoy building utile stuff like that. Nicely done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Better than plastic definately!

I made one of these a long time ago. It's over looked but they're very useful. Mine doesn't look as good as yours though Jim
I should do this as well.

Nice Jim

Nice one Jim, this adds a touch of class to the drawer. Cherry wood is great stuff to work with, can hardly make something that isn't beautiful & pleasing to look at.
Well done and functional.   Getting the function of the piece and looks together makes for a good project outcome.  Did good.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

I've got several of those on my "to do" list.  Any suggestions?  Did you have a plan or just wing it?
Great job.  And I should do that, ours is a wire piece of crap.  Iate it.
Great job Jim. you always have the right way to do a project. and so functional too.
Nice job Jim. It's been on my to do list for too long. Those plasticky things should be outlawed.
Nicely done and always a win to customize an organizer!
Thanks for all the nice comments! Check another thing off the list I brought back from Arizona!!
