Dice Tube
This is a project I started in Arizona but needed my metal lathe in Michigan to finish. I wanted a place to store my big green dice I use to play Farkel almost every night. I was goofing around with the idea of a tube that was square inside and round on the outside and this is the result. It is made with 5 pieces of pecan wood and the cap is Jarrah. I brought it home with the idea that I could thread a cap and then thread the inside end of the tube...but the threads were chipped using 2 different kinds of wood so I went with a bayonet type lock for the top..
It is 1 3/4" x 6 3/8" long and the dice are 13/16" square.

I often question the intention of someone who brings their own dice to game night, kinda like the casinos would 🤠
Personally I think the bayonet style cap is the best option, easier and faster to open and close.

Nice! Probably gotta be a little careful with that cap though. I’d hate to chip that pin off.

I would have liked the knurl to be more distinct but I used the knurling tool in the metal lathe and with the pressure I was putting on it, the center was giving in the wood so I had to quit.
