Pottz,

Saw you got banned on LJ.

I made some comments about not liking the new format as it did not have the life and spirit of the original.  It became just like the Camping, Truck etc forums out there.

yeah they didn't like my comments at,as for a few other refugees here that spoke their mind. we dont worry about that here, martin is a fair open minded owner that allows us to speak out minds. we do stay civil though, nothing rude or vulgar toward others. and you can say "lumber jocks" and not get reprimanded or banned !!!! it's a great forum, wish i would have found it a long time ago.

I finally got to the Gamble house with wife in tow.  She enjoys nice houses and woodworking.  Was good, the cloud lift theme followed through the house.

I have tried to develop a theme for the WWing in AZ, all have cherry, maple and walnut.  Arched aprons also.

oh man so glad to hear ! it's an amazing home with some of the most incredible woodwork. and when you considered the time it took to build, mind blowing !!!!

Hey pal! I hadn’t been on over at LJ for a while so I was surprised to see they booted you off. You have always been a stand up guy in my book. Helpful and welcoming from the start. I was actually wondering how I was going to get in touch with you. I am glad you reached out.

well it got to the point i was sick of the lies and excuses for what was being done or going to get done. so i spoke out and cricket didn't like it and banned me for "rules violations" i wasn't the only one, there are a few here. hell one guy here got banned because he moved his projects over here. plus the censoring and over moderation is rediculous. try and say craftisian on lj's and it will get removed right away and you will be warned. you can say lumber jocks here though ! i sure hope you enjoy it here as i have. wish i had found this a long time ago. hey ive got a few threads going right now, dont be shy, jump in anytime.

Nice looking projects potty, I started with crafty stuff, band saw boxes, small serving trays ect.
Now that I repair furniture and any thing in your house, I build furniture because I have the machinery, so if you have any questions about what you are puzzled about or need help with, contact me and I'll do my best to help. My personal Email is a better way of communication.  ds_woods1956@yahoo.com
When I had more time I answered lots of questions about working on LJ forum but I don't mind helping a fellow woodworker.

Love your avatar... My very first dog was a beagle.. Actually it was my mothers but he was always in trouble so she traded my parakeet  for her dog... His name was Hugo..  I was always trying to bail him out of trouble.. We lived in the country.  He would run off to chase rabbits, but come home smiling like horse poo.  always had to stop along the way and roll in it.  that was one of his minor infractions,,, but I loved him and he was my best buddy.
Well, I made it despite not being able to read your whole message. Fortunately, you noted the important things first, like this site name.  I have know idea what happened at LJ that cause that site to turn to poo in such a hurry. I hope this place can rejuvenate my woodworking friendships.
doug-hey thanks man i appreciate the offer. i missed your post before.
scrap- yeah this is our second beagle and we love em. totally different personality from the first one. this one doesn't roll in poop she eats it ! disgusts the wife. she 's 6 now and still hasn't outgrown it.
FGT- hey buddy so glad you found us. wasn't sure if youd see it because it showed you inactive since october. yeay lj's is a fricken mess ! they ruied the forum. so much censoring and over moderation. i spoke out about it and got banned which was good becayse it got me here. i think you'll like this place, more like lj's was and should be. it's owned by martin who created lj's. this forum is more about the projects not just chat which is what lj's has become. lots of jocks here, and the best ones too. you need help just ask my friend.

One of reason I stopped going to lj was because it was no longer user friendly, I could not seem to even post a project. This site, thus far, is causing me some grief. The search icon (looking for help) does not seem to work, I can’t add a profile picture, the icon doesn’t seem to do anything, I can’t find a help menu nor can I find how to add a project without having to use the link in the welcome notification. What am I doing wrong?
dont fret this place is super easy once you get the hang of it. for projects click on your icon and click on new project. then click on woodworking. we also have metal and leather forums too. then click on the camera where you can upload your photos. make a title and add your description. click submit and youve added a project. one tip also is when you want to follow a forum click on follow replies that way when you return it will take you to where you left off. for help send a pm to martin and he will help you with anything you need. super cool guy, lets just say he's no "cricket" ! for your avatar just go on edit my profile and you should be able to add it there. if it's not working martin will fix it. i had some problems at first myself and he took care of it right away.

Ok, it appears the issue is my other iPad is too old to work all the site details. So, seems to be working on the updated devices.
ok good. one thing we dont have are favorites but we do collections which i like much better. it allows you to make groupings or just one big one if you want. ive got several i divide projects into.
i wish i had found this place a long time ago. martin is still working on things so it's still evolving. he lets us pretty much say what we want as long as it's not nasty or rude to someone which ive found none of that here, unlike lj's. only the best of lj's have come here so far. we did have one rude guy that started bitching and complaining day one. he was quickly shut down and hasn't been back-lol ! hey dont be shy, jump in anytime. i started a new pottz patio here so join us.

I tried to post a project, now I am not authorized to do anything but pester you.  It has been about 5 hours and no approval. In fact, I don’t even know for sure if my project was actually submitted. I clicked submit and it was gone. I hope they got it and approve it soon, I have a few projects to post.

The welcome letter said it should not take more than a few hours - definition of few open for debate -    Anyway, since I can only pester, I thought who better to pester than you?
ha ha no problem bud it will get done. ill send martin a message, he's sped the process up for a few guys ive invited. i should have done that right away. it's to get the riff raff out. i gotta say since ive been here not one single spammer ! so why did lj's have so much trouble ?
