i keep seeing reviews pop up but we have no proper review forum. i thought maybe if everyone posts their reviews in one place it will be easier to find. right now once it moves down the line it would be hard to find. even in one place we'll need to scroll through the list. the old lj's had a great review forum, hopefully martin will bring that here ? maybe then the reviews could be moved ?

I think that making a blog/forum post with the right keywords and beginning the title with "REVIEW" would at least make it easier to move stuff over to a future review section.
I really like the idea for shops too. I love looking at others' creative storage and layout ideas. The layout tool that Grizzly used to have is apparently no more and I had my last shop in OH laid out how I wanted but filled it with crap and deals too good to pass up before I had it close to perfect.
I agree that Reviews will be helpful to others, would be nice to have a section dedicated to this. I did a review on a Wen power hand planer here, found it by searching for Wen planer, perhaps if you have a tool in mind you can find a review in that manner until a Review forum is created.
someone started a shop forum, i think it was eric ? but didn't really get going. martin had said it was in the works and sounded like he was ready to start it ? but that was a couple months ago.

ok my review of my new mirka deos sander. had it for a couple weeks now and was able to test drive. since i had a mirka deros 5" ROS for a few years now it was no worry to invest in this one. uses 3x5" sanding screens. it's a .01 orbital action sander. very smooth with low vibration and hooked up to my fein collector, dust free. weighs in at 2.2lbs and low profile at 4" tall. brushless motor and variable speed. has bluetooth connectivity if your into that ? has a 14' cord that can be removed for storage. this model did not come in a systainer but did include a tray that can be put in my deros systainer. i love my deros and this deos is gonna be the perfect match to go with it. at around 500 bucks it's definitely not cheap, but for me it's well worth the price. makes the drudgery of sanding a little more pleasurable.

Looks nice Pottz. The Velcro is a plus on these sanders. I have a Ryobi I bought years ago that has those metal spring holders and they gave out and now it’s useless.
What do you think the advantage of this one over the your orbital sander? Different uses? Direction of the vibration?
it will be good for sanding into corners and up againts the sides of boxes or cabinets, places a round sander just cant do. i had an old makita with those metal prongs. it was a pita to change paper. just gave it away last week. havn't used it in many years.

You had me chanting at the bit when you mentioned Bluetooth... but then it's corded... why Bluetoothed? The Bluetooth in a battery I can appreciate but in a corded, all I can imagine is draining power.. unless you want to watch what you are sanding on your iPhone..

Still "hate" the paddles... reached to lift out of the cradle (for the photo shoot) and forgot to turn the power of at last use... at least you'll (pottzy) know what I men.

oh man ive been anticipating your arrival ! yeah the bluetooth ? you got me. here is what they say it will do. Mirka electric sanders further feature an integrated vibration sensor and Bluetooth connectivity. The vibration sensor makes it possible to track the current vibration values in the myMirka app. do we need that, really ? as for the paddle switch i dont mind it at all. ya just gotta remember to turn it off when changing sanding screens. and yes i know what you mean duck. as for the "systainer" issue, i looked at mirkas next to my festool one. dude they are identical !!!! and ill bet there made by the same company for both ! thanks for your comments my friend. not many appreciate 600 dollar sanders.or more is AUS. !!!!! hell i just realized ive got a tool you dont 😁

Just to clear things up... the 3.0 refers to the orbital radius, which is 3mm, or slightly less than 1/8". The orbital radius on my Festool FTS 400 is 2mm. Also, the pads are almost identical; 81x133mm for the Mirka and 80x133mm for the Festool. I'm not sure why Mirka chose to go with the 3 x 5 inch figure in their specs. Yea, it's close, but why go imperial for that?
With its low profile, the Mirka clearly looks superior in terms of ergonomics.

But pottzy... that pissy yellow is way below the esthetics of the achromatic grey, spalted with the eco friendly green.
I've just recently bought the RTSC400... I also have the corded RS 400, so I can actually compare and for once not just prattle out of my rrrs unfounded. It's a sander... hate to admit, but in my opinion nothing extra special to brag about despite the FE$TOOL logo... however, the Bluetooth battery combined with the Bluetooth Dusty is a combination of the future... I initially thought, Bluetooth is (bah humbug), but once used, it's hard to not get pissed off with recalcitrant cords, unnecessarily. Hell, convenience is the name of the game... if Bos¢h brought out a Bluetooth equivalent, I'd even retire my ROTEX.
