this forum has over 5k members but the only ones that post are us ex pats from LJ'S ! where are the others that came before us ! bigger question, how do we get em back ? i mean it's pretty cool we have a forum all to our selves but we need old members back or get new people on. so ill say to you that still are on LJ'S recruit em to come here. ive done pretty much all i can with my "status" there so to speak. so i need you that are still active their do what you can. hell ya know this place is heads and tails above that mess of a forum. i want this place to grow and flourish ! 😍😍😍😎
working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.
I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure the LJ user database got scrubbed and copied here at some point. I remember deleting am account here (before the name change) 7 or 8 years ago. Lots of us from LJ that somehow ended up with accounts that we never made. Surely some of those 5k users fall in that category, and likely don't even know they have accounts?
I know I haven't been super active, the whole thing kind of took much of my enthusiasm away
mosq. whats even real anymore ? so how many members do we really have and many does LJ'S really have ? i think their numbers are way over blown based on what happens on the forum as to posts, projects ?

exactly, i really dont care if the numbers are real or not, i live by those that are here and participate. hell buddy if it's just you and me so be it ! lol, right now it just might be ?

I used to love the activity of putting projects on Lumber Jocks and thought it would go on forever. Sadly things change, but now I am loving being on CRAFTISIANS....GREAT SITE!!!! Everyone is so friendly and feels like you guys are living just down the street. BY HECK WE REALLY ARE NEIGHBOURS....it's only the Pacific Ocean between where I live in Australia and America.....So, Hi, Howdy, G'day to all my wonderful neighbours in America and elsewhere. Kind regards......Cliff.

Yes as Cliff said, It’s great to find this mob of makers here. For me it’s not overly important were they’ve come from but just that they are here to support, encourage and share their skills with others from across the world. For me it’s so good to be a part of this community.
I'm making as much saw dust as ever but the turmoil and rebellious attitude really left a sour taste for me. Everybody probably knows that I never was very active in the forums, never contributed much information because I wasn't there. Consequently my ignorance of the root cause of the turmoil is my biggest drawback. As far as posting some of my projects ? I just don't have any interest anymore - - -
I’m recharging my batteries, but I certainly owe Craftisians some more blog entries and perhaps some reviews. Just on my laurels at the moment regenerating steam (just spent over 700 days working on a single project — and have to sharpen all my hand planes before I can truly start back up as everything is dull from the last project)
Greetings, I am good with the prospect of new members. More the merrier is what I have been led to believe.
I can't say I really saw evil at LJ's as some apparently did. My biggest gripe is when people fix something that absolutely wasn't broken, just needed a little software tweak. They did burn it all down, gave a weak response, and acted like we were A hats for not falling in love with it.
All of this push toward whatever Microshaft, Goofle, and Faceplant say is the "must" thing when it looks like another gizmo that is just gonna cost you $$$$$. I guess I don't see the need to move away from Caveman Internet. It works, leave it be, let the companies that think they can't survive without something absorb it. I ain't interested, just wanna click a mouse, and type some text.
I am fine with a website that looks like a piece of paper with the pertinent crap listed, an occasional pic to show what they mean, it works. Having to be "slick" "glossy" and all the other expensive words really don't do anything to make the info contained any different. I don't see any need for hair jell, or other Male beauty products either. Comes down to it, is you are either good looking, or butt ass ugly, deal with it.
