As part of the Spiral Veneer Pendant Lamp project, I came up with an inner shade to envelope the light bulb:
It worked well for that project, and I thought that I could use the basic form of the inner structure as a basis for a set of pendant lights. Since I'm in need of some additional lighting in the upstairs hall, and since I'm on a lighting kick (just finished a tripod floor lamp - to be shared later), I jumped right into this project.
After studying the earlier lamp, I decided on these modifications for the new pendants:
5 bands of veneer instead of 3
Slightly wider veneer bands
Increased center diameter to make it easier to get to the light socket
5 ribs instead of 4
After an evening designing the pieces on the computer, I was ready to go….
