Building a Cherry executive desk.
Pretty Long Winded,  (More Picture Heavy) Thanks In Advance if you make it all the way through.

Started with a SketchUp drawing for approval,

Then by exploding it I can pan around all the pieces and take measurements and print outs for each as needed.

I have a lot of pics so I'm just going to post them, instead of trying to explain them all.
I think you all pretty much can tell whats happening without me telling,  but if you have any questions about anything feel free to ask.

Working on the panels:

Making the tops:

Dry Fitting it all:

Will post as a project soon.
Thanks for following along if you made it to the end.

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

hey i dont mind long winded when it's worth following like this ! buddy you underestimate yourself way too much !!!!

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

You build some massive projects. Moving them around for finishing or delivery must be quite a challenge. I assume you’re a working pro and have some help?
I use the term "pro" lightly,  I consider myself a well rounded cabinet maker with a little talent to do descent quality work, but I am making a living building the things I build.
I do everything myself,  but do have a few guys that I can get to help me install,  and will grab a neighbor if I help moving something. I've been a 1 man band since 2006,  so I pretty much learned how to finagle things by myself whenever possible.

Cool… in my book “making a living off it” == pro, but I understand what you mean. (I’ve seen many things in my and my kids’ houses done by guys who got paid for the work that aren’t very professional.)

It’s great that you can manage your work alone for the most part.
Wat a beautiful build. Great disign and execution. Thanks for all photos.

Great craftsmanship and as a person who loves huge workspaces - gorgeous desk!!  I thought my wraparound desk (purchased, not yet building things!) was big but in comparison is junior sized!
If I lived near you I would help you for free just to learn from you, seriously. I'd give away all my tools and just come and hang out with you.
