Pottz.... read this https://blog.siouxrubber.com/blog/does-urethane-rubber-break-down
it sure does. ive never seen an o ring turn to a goo like these did though. mine are probably 10 years old.

Mine aren’t nearly that old, but I just went and checked them and they’re fine. I imagine they’re only 3-4 years old though.

Bummer. I hope they replace them!!

maybe if i tell em on a wood forum and might have to do a review thats not in their favor ?

Are they standard size o-rings pottz?  You can buy them on Mcmaster Carr for little of nothing.  Urethane does break down.  No way around that.  Environment is a factor but they can’t last forever.
yeah all o rings break down eventually just never saw one that turned to paste !

I have a set of of them and mine are still firm and don't show an signs of turning into gel.  Makes me wonder if they were stored near isopropyl alcohol, MKP, acetone, or one of those other old style solvents and the VOC's ate them.

I've had very mixed responses from JessEm.  If they do respond, ask what they are made of.  At least that way you can do a material compatibility search and see if they were exposed to some type of solvent.
no earl they were in a drawer of my router cabinet ! there made of urethane.  it's no big deal really. if jessem says they need to charge me im fine with it.

I recall reading about that being an issue when I was researching and reading reviews on them. You can buy replacements, and I think the official answer was along the lines of "we know, but it's a compromise between grip on the work piece and durability", or something to that effect

Yeah most longer-lasting materials they could use are too soft and dust will cling to them.  I think urethane is a good decision but I would also think they would make replacements readily available knowing they will be needed.
i sent a message with the part number so it shouldn't be a problem, i hope.

Did you clean with something that ate them.  Mine are fine. General, I don’t see the breakdown as turning to goo as much as I see them turn dry and brittle.

nope ive never applied anything to them. mine were as far from dry and brittle as you can get. i did get a message back saying i can order new ones from their website. when i went on i didn't see where but i must have missed it.

Odd. Well, at least I think it odd.
yeah i got new ones coming. all rubber eventually breaks down, but ive never seen any like that.

They could have randomly been exposed to a solvent somehow…who knows. Weird stuff happens in a shop…

something must have gotten on them to do that. last time i used em was probably a couple years ago ?

I bet it’s fumes. For them to deteriorate uniformly and melt away it seems like it’d need to be immersive.

could be they were in a drawer of my router cabinet.

I bought two sets (1 for my router table and 1 for the table saw) 11 years ago (2013),,,
The router table seem OK (used occasionally),

however, the tablesaw (hardly used) set are not mush... yet... however, I can see pressure indentation and can sink a fingernail into the tyre,

The dedicated tablesaw bought in 2014 seem ok,

though I use them a lot.

Would be interested in any replacement details.
