Any idea if he has anything in play where he takes pics, and offers to ship the pieces? It's my favorite thing about
CurlyMaplewood Kevin the owner sells a lot more wood now, doing it that way, and according to him also makes a LOT more $$$$$ doing it like that, over just offering the wood for sale, local only.
It gives people like myself a chance to buy spectacular pieces of Mesquite, where there is none local to me. I understand I am paying for premier wood, as well as a wood service, so I expect it's going to be more than at the regular Lumber places, but it's the wood legends are made of.
Not sure if your guy would want to do that?? Something you might pass along to him??
Conversely if he only offers so so wood, then he wouldn't lure too many into premium prices, but if he selects out the awesome stuff this is a proven business model. Like Kevin says, if you are looking at a pic of his, that is the last piece of it available. Even when he has a whole tree of really great wood, he still takes pics of each piece, and they sell for what they sell for.
