ive been wanting a small bench top band saw for a long time so i finally bought one. went with the wen. had 4.5 stars on amazon. price was great at 145 bucks ! has a two year warranty. ive had a wen vs bench grinder that ive been quite happy with so i figured why not. it's 2.8 amps 120v. cutting depth is 3.5" x 9" wide. setup out of the box was just attaching the table with two knobs. comes with a 1/4" blade that i swapped out with a 1/8". tracking was perfect needing no adjustment. ball bearing guides top and bottom. comes with a fence and a miter gauge. table will tilt up to 45 degrees. unit is all steel at 40lbs so easy to move around. duct collect hooked up to my shop vac was great. noise level is very low. so far with the testing ive done im lovin this saw. gonna come in real handy for a lot of things.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Looks like your side bearing (4th photo) is a bit off there Pottz (tsk, tsk)

Looks like a great investment, zoom out and it's be hard to tell from a much larger saw.

I use the crap out of my smaller 14" I restored, great thing to have a place to go for a quick cut on Most anything.

Only thing that in my mind that would be better is a good scroll saw since one can cut out interior shapes by passing the blade trough. Alas a good scroll saw would be many times more expensive.

You are picking up a lot of smaller tools lately, is something going on that we should all know about?

So, when is the bandsaw cart project going to hit this site????

Awaiting your in-action reviews!
Nice review pottz. The recent small tool reviews has me wondering if I can find a need for them 😀
Nice review

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

you have room for this?  I'm starting to bulge at the seams..

Love that hold down setup! I can see why the LBD sets his tools up like that, very convenient. 👍

The only bench top tool I use is my lunchbox planer. I used to just clamp to to my TS, but then made a hooked base that locks into the gap between the TS top and fence rail. Stays put, but the vibrations tend to make all the crap on my extension table walk off and plop onto the floor. Fortunately I have thick stall mats to catch the delicates.

With the PC nowadays, I can't say "whoa there ******".  I'm a MFT (Multi Functional Trooper) and a belated t-track officianado.

pottzy, you going back to the LJ days when people don't look at their sideways photos posted (OOF [ Out Of Focus] is nearly as bad... though I appreciate the happy snap).

I got rid of my 14" BS (my normal BS is much bigger) due to space... have regretted ever since.  Fortunately my inverted jigsaw fills that unplanned gap.

And watch out for those bloody koalas.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

yeah sorry for the blur, i was gonna redo it but it was just to show splint how i was mounting it. so tough 💩

I have a couple of WEN tools, they work very well for me, can't ask for much more than that. I'm sure you'll enjoy this bandsaw.
yeah for the money it's a real well made saw. time will tell how well it holds up though.

Looks nice. Agree with Splint, thrust bearing is the most important to get adjusted right.

So Pottz..... after some 9 months have gone by..... do you still love it?

As you do get some use from it keep us up to date, I like my HF pro 14", but it has a larger footprint. I have thought about the 10" Rikon, which I have heard good things about, but it's MO MONEY, so if 145 gets er dun, well you know, save when ya can. I had seen these, just not sure I've known anyone with one.
