Six More Card Carousels

I finally finished the order of 3-bin card carousels for the folks in our park in Arizona. They are made of solid cherry and each holds 8 decks of cards used in playing Hand and Foot (https://gamerules.com/rules/hand-and-foot-card-game/). We use 2 more decks than the number of players - more wild cards available that way!!!

I added a couple shots of the bins in the making. I use a round nosed router bit to put in pockets at each end of the cards so you get under the last card to pull the stack out for shuffling. I also dowel that center block on so when it comes to gluing it on, there is no movement out of position. The side panels have those pockets spotted to them and are cut out on the scroll saw with a 6 degree angle on all slots. Lots of sanding to make all edges rounded for comfortable use.  With my laser elevated up 3 1/2" I can burn each bin after assembly.

Nice work Jim, all identicle. I guess repetition creats muscle memory pretty quickly.
I don't know anything about the game, but your card holders are top-notch!
Nicely done!

Do you do anything special to elevate the laser? Blocks? I’m always looking for ways to do that better.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Glad you got them done. I imagine all of those card players were chomping at the bit for their arrival. Sounds like you worked out a few details for mass production.
Very Nice Jim,
Great Project!!!!!!

Regards......Cliff.
Thank you all for the nice comments. I don't know how many more of these I'll have to make. The market is getting saturated. No one else make 'em either.

Bummer ehh? Figure out the logistics for mass production, and the market evaporates. :-))
Yes and I'm raising the prices because everything has gone up for me and I kept the price the same as last year for this last batch.

And if one/people don't play cards... they could be used as great knuckle dusters

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Hi ducky..You[, just give them a spin and stick your finger in them!!!!! It would be almost like sticking your hand into a spinning lathe chuck!

cheers, Jim

And it's portable... that should raise the sale price by many shekels.

Hi Ducky!!
I should have made a leather carrying  bag for every one like I made for my 5 bin one. That would be many more shekels for them!!
