  1. Solid Oak 4-drawer Machinist Toolbox

I keep an eye on eBay for machinist toolboxes.  Found this one for $120 (!!) and it absolutely delivers on that price! It wouldn’t compete with the quality of a Gerstner, but it will absolutely hold some tools and look good doing it. I love the innovative drawer locking mechanism. Half-dowels slide down from the top compartment to capture hoops screwed to the back of each drawer.

Nice score! A new Gerstner is over 10X that kind of money.

Purdy box that's not all beat up!
nice score on that chest dev. why is it in the bathroom though. you gonna use it for makeup and toiletries 🤔😂

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

My guess is just that people have different thinking areas. Comfy chair. patio, sauna, soaking tub....
In the bathroom because I didn’t want the spouse to see it. I have been buying a lot of things lately. So the box got a little photo shoot in the bathroom before it got set on the shelf in my walk-in closet. I have to clear off some space in the shop for it to live
I bought it to put machinist tools in. I have a huge collection of machinist tools that I use but are packed away because they don’t have a good home.

Still unpacking the shop after the move.
it takes time dev, especially with 4 kids !!!!

Nice find!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Great buy. What are those half dowels for? To hold the lid open!

Pottz when you ain’t got a shop yet you gotta work while your multi tasking.

The half dowles keep the drawers closed
Is that box a new build or something vintage?
Looks to me to be vintage. Not antique, as there are indications it was made using power tools, but I would guess it was made in the 1990’s; probably about 30 years old.
