Jig Setup

I set up the assembly fixture using the body template, and fixed the neck position.

Check the Side Fit

I glued one side to the tail block and checked the side fit.

Lining Strips

While waiting for the other side panel to dry, I cut some 3/16 x 1" strips for the lining, cut the relief kerfs, then ripped the strips to 3/8" wide.

Sides/Neck glue-up

Glued both sides to the tail block then, after some fine tuning and trimming, Glued both sides to the neck.

Rhoots

I've always wondered about that reinforcement "lining" wood with all the kerfs.
Seems like something that would take forever. Seeing how evenly spaced your cuts are, you must have done something to make the process easier!

Still in awe of your build jig, some fine ideas there!

Nope. Just like it looks. Mark it out every 1/4 inch and make a gajillion cuts on the band saw. Only fixture is a positive stop for the miter so I don’t cut through. Takes about 10 minutes for each strip. I’ve seen a few jigs for this but so far all of them are way too sophisticated and not worth the trouble.
