Hints and tips that some may not have heard of. #37: Fe$tool Drill on the cheap

Boys and Girls,

I get a load of flack from all but the tree huggers (they’re the greenies who think Ryobi and Fe$tool are organic due to their colour), but like water off a duck’s back,
the tears well up in my eyes.

To indoctrinate the skinflints into the Festool brotherhood, this is a simple method for converting your yellow belly to an environmental friendly greenie. Unfortunately this tip is restricted to promotion into the drilling empire.

Don’t bother asking why any sane person would want to do that as I will answer without prompting.
You may have a long lost distant uncle that bequeathed you a swag of CENTRONIC drill bits in his will and gave the actual drill to a more preferred and better looking cuzz (or drinking buddy).

Get one of these CENTROTEC adaptor gizmos,
and you can add a CENTROTEC Drill chuck
that will let you take all the CENTROTEC bits…
and believe me they are helluva better quality than those cheapo ones most people have banging around in their workshops.

It will  also let you mount a Fe$tool FastFix Adjustable Depth Control Chuck Attachment

and many more Fe$tool attachments… unfortunately it will not accept the angle and offset chucks because of the shoulder on the adapter.

There is also a FastFix Chuck Adapter for SDS.

BUT then again, this is not a REVIEW)!... Just a heads up to permit the use of some handy Fe$tool gadgets.

Drill driver silencer!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Looks like a 007 accessory!

Actually it's the cone of silence 99!

I like this blog Ducky. At least on this one I didn’t have to read a book.

Ryan it does look like a mob hit man’s drill.

Makes me think of my small Milwaukee driver. Has the QR chuck for the hex shank bits. I have a 3/8" chuck that fits when I want to use a standard drill bit, but it won't hold the smaller #50+ bits. For those I have a micro chuck with a 3/8"  shaft. Drill/chuck/cmaller chuck/bit.

Kinda looks like a space weapon but all the nose heavy weight causes it to droop like a, well, that!

I’m glad I don’t have a wet noodle splinter, Yet  😃

Ducky. What a deal the attachment is only $149.49! Are these tools an impulse buy?

I could buy a lot of QSWO for my next project with $150 bucks.

But they are fine tools.

Hey, that yellow belly was there for contrast... if I put it on a bigger drill you'd probably have trouble spotting it,

and it'd blend in with a green Ryobi,

Yes, it was an impulse buy, but reasonably packaged with the drill combo I bought at the time.  It was spurred on by the fact/memory that in the past I used to use a lot of decorative brass crews whose level with the surface was critical... unfortunately age made me forget I don't do those projects any more.
This is definitely a specialised tool and I've occasionally been challenged if I can justify keeping it rather than selling it to "friends" at a discount... those interested wanted it cheap rather than paying full price... which a few eventually did (full price).

BTW... if you don't buy one, don't you dare say you saved $150 bucks... as you're gonna waste that money on something else.
I'd rather waste my money on myself than leave it behind for my kids to buy other crap.... hell this way I'll leave them something to ponder and try to determine what it is, how to use it and how much they could sell it for.
