Well, finished without finish, but structurally complete.  Here's the completed chair next to the deck skirting from whence it came.

I'll make a project post once I've completed a 2nd chair and have some finish applied.
Ross,

Another well crafted project as usual.  What are you planning to use for finish?

looks beautiful ross. i assume you'll use some sort of cushions ?

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

A great and interesting build !

AND..you did a great job of documenting the build with pictures and explainations.
I appreciate the kind words, guys.

daveg - yes, although I've been back-and-forth on exactly what to use - oil or poly.  The current reigning idea is GF exterior 450 stain followed by 450 topcoat.

pottz - yes, the plan is for a store-bought outside cushion set.  I did my sit tests with one, but its cushions are too thick, so I'm on the hunt.

The chair turned out great Ross, and it looks very sturdy. Thanks for sharing the build Journey.

For being a knock-down design, it is pretty sturdy.  I'm anxious to start the 2nd one, although last night I found that the pieces I had rough-cut out last fall had shrunk across the grain, so my template routing is likely going to leave some patches that don't get hit by the router.  They'll need to be finessed by hand.  I'll make it work, but it's not ideal.
It can be difficult at times when a project sits for a bit. Done that before.

I finished the template routing for the 2nd chair components this evening.  Despite the shrunken blanks, it all went pretty well.  I’m looking forward to a productive weekend.
I love that chair.  If I wasn't so old, I would make a set.
