Welcome to the Bushing Book from Penn State Industries. This document covers bushings, trimming sleeves and chucks that are used to turn and size your project. The bushings are listed in the Table of Contents and the corresponding page matches the page number of the PDF document page. The document is broken up into three sections. The first section has specification sheets for each bushing. The last three sections are Appendices. The List by Kit appendix is a listing of each series of kit and the bushing used for that kit. The second appendix lists each bushing and all kits that use that bushing. The Diameter Index is a list of the diameter measurements for each section of the bushings to make it easier to identify bushings that have become mixed up. Remember that there will be slight variations for tolerances and wear from use. If variation exceeds .005”, consider replacing bushing. The specification sheets consist of a simplified drawing of the item with each section marked off for length and diameter. The type of product is listed on each page. The drawing is representative and is made to relative scale, not exact scale. Each part (e.g. tip, center) and each section is named to help distinguish what section of the kit the part is for. Some sets contain more than one of a particular part. Next to each part name is a number in parenthesis noting how many will come in the set. At the bottom of each page is a list of Kit Item Numbers for kits that use the bushing. This document is searchable through several methods. It can be searched by the Bushing Item Number, or it can be searched by the Kit Series Number. This is the part of the kit item code that does not include the finish. For example the Bolt Action Series Number would be “PKCP80(XX)” the last 2 numbers of a Bolt Action Kit reference the finish of the kit and are not listed individually in this document for reasons of space. You can also search for “BOLT” which would take you to the appendix pages which will tell you which bushing is used by the Bolt A

It is 287 pages long.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

This would be great to have archived in a reference section here on the site. I know at one point there was discussion of having a file repository here. Seems like things like this would be perfect for that…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Thanks for sharing Ron, some great info to have.

Rhoots started something like that, but is seems to not get too much support...
