Howdy, Everybody!

Been a while, as I’ve been focusing on other activities, but still have gotten some woodworking done, despite the heat.

We’re in the middle of a grassland restoration project, so I’ve been spending the cooler part of the day on the tractor, shredding, removing brush, spraying, etc.

Despite all that, I was able to put a Walnut jewelry/music box together for a raffle prize for my Mom’s family’s reunion. The music movement is How Great Thou Art, a song that my Grandmother Nolen used to play on the piano.

One of her daughters won the box and was very tickled to do so. Me even more so in that she’s one of my favorite Aunts.

I made a number of jewelry boxes years ago, and this is the first one, of this style, that I’ve done in years.

Was definitely rewarding to see this one go to a great home.

I also did a couple of Mr. and Mrs. signs as wedding gifts. I’ve got a couple more in the works for anniversary gifts, too, as well as a business sign to do for a friend.
