I took this picture this morning. I move the chrysalis and attach to a stick with thread to make it easier to watch. This picture show chrysalis at three different stages. They remain green for several days before starting to getting dark. The middle one is just starting to turn. The one on the right has turned black and translucent. You can see the Monarch wings and it will likely emerge in a few hours.
