Thanks!  I was on lumberjocks several years ago, but it seems that site has changed a bit, so I was very happy to find this community.  I'm looking forward to sharing and learning from this talented group of craftisians!
yeah i was there for several years but after the big change it went sour. the censoring there is horrible, you cant say anything without getting reprimanded. here the owner martin, who actually started lj's lets us do anything we want. a bunch of the best woodworkers from there moved over here. i hope you enjoy it here and if you need any help just ask.

Quick question for you -- I submitted my first project post last weekend, but I haven't heard anything back on it being reviewed or about approving me as a member.  I'm wondering if I was supposed to submit a post on the "Introduce Yourself" forum before I submitted a project post... so perhaps I did that out of order.  In either case, it doesn't appear I can post or message anybody else until that first post is approved, so I'm just wondering if there's something else I needed to do.  Any advice would be great.  Thanks!
martin the owner isn't on here a lot so he may not have seen it yet. ill try sending him a message, maybe that will speed it up ? i used to just say, this guy is legit and he'd approve right away.

I saw your message, but it won’t let me respond back, so I’m guessing I’m not approved yet.  I hope all is well with Martin. I’ll just hang tight for now, and hopefully he’ll be able to approve when he gets back to the site. Thanks for your help!
yeah he's the one and only moderator so if he's not on we have no one.
