One of my colleagues at work was nearly in tears telling me how B&Q wanted 2 grand to fit her new kitchen. She'd just moved house, had two year old twins, it was coming up to Christmas and she didn't know how she was going to afford it.
So because I can't say no I said I'd do it for her at mates rates.
I also got the half length of oak worktop that was left over for a little breakfast bar project I had in mind for myself.
I put on a leg in case I ever have to move it instead of attaching to the wall.
The join is with loose tenons. Danish oil finish.

Fits into an otherwise dead space beautifully and when you walk in you are greeted by a big chunk of oak.

That's a nice small project. Perfect for a small space.
Being able to use leftovers is always good. Hard to figure what else to use them for, this fits the bill nicely.

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.
That looks great and is a nice reminder of the kitchen project.
