this is a charles brock bow tie stool i did from his plans,i did change it up quite a bit,made the legs 6" longer and added a cross bar for a foot rest.the seat is also 2" wider than his called for.i got inspiration for the changes from LJ'S saausage,unfortunately the one tip he gave me i forgot about was to make the seat deeper,id say it needs to be about 2" more because i dont think it's comfortable as designed.seat and backrest are walnut,the legs are mahogany and the plugs are maple.finished with 3 coats of maloof blend oil,only fitting for something made in his style. seat layout.

Very Nice Work! I really like seeing this kind of stuff. This, to me, is woodworking. Hopefully I will get the chance to do some when I retire, unless someone gives me an order for one....or 10.

maloofs trademark style was a combination of hard crisp lines mixed with very soft rounded edges. it made you wanna runs your hands over the surface and feel the wood. one of the reasons he only used hand rubbed oil finishes.
