Time to share a bit here... instead of LJ

I have "migrated" to Craftisian from LumberJocks. I was pretty disappointed when the new LJ forum design appeared (or shall we call it "monetizing" design), and decided to join here. But life took over and there was little time to post... and when I finally did want to share something, I went to LumberJocks, out of habbit I guess... and posted there. Bad me.

Well, while there are probably still many good folks at LJ, I have to say the site design really isn't tailored for what we do, or what we had previously at LJ. There is no more project gallery, no back-links to the maker on project pages etc... it all just feels like existing content was brute-forced into an existing forum template site... I could go on, but why waste more time complaining.

Instead I will try to post my past projects here. I've been woodworking since 2008 (ignoring small very brute projects when younger). So I will start with the first 2008 project... and go on from there.

It's ugly and cold outside, so there should be time to put up at least one project per week or so... chronologically, starting from 2008 :)

-- I guess posting old projects is OK, especially since many have migrated here and are re-posting things here that originally appeared on LJ. --

Cheers,
DrTebi

Welcome!  It'll be great to see your projects appear here.

I saw your last attempt to make a simple request on LJ and how it was handled by the usual powers-that-be.  As you say, it's time to just move on.

Welcome DT... I share your sentiment...
It's not that I cannot tolerate their new format, clunky but usable, it's the way they screwed up what was there and any constructive reference back... Unless one checks daily as to what's going on (or follow everything), a few days later it has slipped off the radar.

Fortunately you can edit your past posts at LJ and paste them here...  only issue I've found is the embarassment of all the typos I made over there.

Just posted the first project:

@ChuckV : Indeed, I was "handled down" on LJ as you mention. A bit ridiculous I thought that was.

@LIttleBlackDuck : Typos are hardly an issue when you consider the amazing amount of posts you have transferred already! Thank you for all your efforts.

i already welcomed you on your project so ill just say i agree with your sentiment about LJ'S. i worked hard on that forum encouraging new members, posting projects and creating content. well lets just say they didn't like all i had to say ! being banned 3 times brought me here, woodworker heaven !!! the owner martin, who created LJ'S is a hands off let us enjoy the forum without treating us like children moderator. hell the duck and i havn't been spanked once yet ! that says a lot 🤣 glad your here my friend !

The caveat is that you MUST read all comments before making one.
