  1. ...and now for the clamping!
  2. P.S. - new benchtop!

Just a short entry, maybe almost just an addendum….

I swapped out the table top on the Auxilary bench for a 2’x4’x3/4” thick chipboard covered with melamine. It was an easy swap out and boy oh boy did it make a difference! I’m officially renaming the Auxiliary bench to the Vacuum bench! As a first test I mounted the Shaper Workstation to the benchtop. It’s got an (almost) flat metal base and boy did that sucker stick! I was mucking about with it and actually forgot the vacuum was on since the Venturi wasn’t cycling at all. I bet it went 5 or 6 minutes before it cycled and when it did it only lasted about 2 seconds. The chipboard is a true 3/4”, and the other tops were nominal, so I ended up having to shim up the edges of the other tables where they butted up against the (now) Vacuum table in order to keep everything coplaner, but that was pretty easy. The last thing I need to do is edge band the front and back and we’ll be in business!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".
