 my grandpa used to use jars like that for screws.

Us oldies have the smarts... you "younguns" probably go for the individual baggies ones,

to avoid cross contamination  and global warming,

.... eventually broke all the jars.

That's why I wear thongs in the workshop and not go barefoot.

Plastic bottles were a go at one stage, however, quickly learnt not to use them as tambourines... the screws scuffed the jars up so I couldn't identify the contents... and let's not mention the greenies.

WOW...and I thought I had a lot of screws. You are stocked better than some hardware stores! I like the "visual shop" where you can see what you have, too!!!!!!!!!

I go out of my way for another screw.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
