Welcome Montana... I also have an Excalibur (littler one)... I'm just a hack scroller... don't do much and only use it for tight curves that my mitre saw (Kapex) cannot do... but having tried to do a 90° turns on the scroll without breaking a blade, I appreciate the skill you guys have.
PS. That's not sawdust on the saw... probably accumulated unhatched spiders' eggs.
If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
