Sorry, but I just couldn’t resist this. I’ll let the picture speak for itself.

I love the fence rail…is that what they call “infinitely adjustable”?

Thanks for posting this. I called and he said he had 2 others interested so I offered him 200 and he accepted. Can hardly wait to go pick it up.

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

That was fast :)

Sorry Bently…I just called and offered him 3 bills. This beauty will be mine!!!!

Why can’t I find deals like that here? I was holding out for a nice skill, but had to settle for a Grizzly.

Just drove 5 hours to pick it up only to find out some guy named David bought it for 300,
I always miss out on the good deals, Go figure. :)

Damn the bad luck!

Fear not, there’s always this little charmer. It’s a designer “sculpture” or the bottom of a piling cut off and hosed down…a real bargain at 900 quid…

Hey David, How bout letting that one go for $350…cash ??

Measure "at least" twice and cut once

Deals like this are always too far away from me to take advantage of (thankfully!).

I know the whole craigslist thing has been beat to death elsewhere, but it still never ceases to amaze me what people will post on there. I still laugh every time I see a piece of machinery list as “great condition” with a ton of crap piled on top of it and deep rust all over it.

I found another listing yesterday for 5 large jars of aluminum pull tabs for sale. I’m still trying to figure out how this person decided there was a market, other than the normal scrap market, for aluminum pull tabs.

Artisan Woodworks of Texas- www.awwtx.com

Bill, In this area there are companies that will make a donation to your childrens school based on the volume of pull tabs. I also think this has something to do with the Ronald McDonald house. I would imagine this person is trying to get someone to pay them to get these pull tabs so the buyer can donate them. This truly must be a sad individual!!! This is exactly why I don’t look at Craig’s list much anymore…there are only a few reasonable prices and I always wonder how much of this is stolen. I work in Law Enforcement and trust me….if you know the “codes” you can pretty much get_ anything_ you want.

I know what you’re saying bill, but sometimes it’s worth a laugh. I search craigslist pretty often and while I’ve seen a lot of stinkers, I’ve managed to find some pretty good deals. My best find ever was 1985 Troy-Bilt Horse II tiller in “very good” condition for $350. It was (and still is) in better than very good condition. It even has the original decals still on it. I also managed to find my planer and jointer on CL. Picked up both for $375. Of course, I see some real “deals” too, like the one you posted. It does crack me up to see some of the things people will try to sell.

Trust me, I scour craigslist on a daily basis. Here’s one of my best craigslist finds:

It’s a 16" Crescent jointer dating back to the 40’s best I can tell. 7 1/2hp and 2000 lbs. She’s a beast!

Artisan Woodworks of Texas- www.awwtx.com

Holy cow. That jointer is a beast for sure. You must have loads of space and 3 phase power.

I run across fire pumps often. They’re usually about 25 HP. I want to connect one to my table saw and see what happens. LOL

Shoot Bill, you call that little bench-top thing a jointer??

LOL…..I’ve thought about naming it the USS Ronald Reagan. Put a few lights on it and you can land aircraft on it.

Brian, my shop is about 2500 sq ft. There is 3 phase to the building but not to my space. That collection of boxes on the wall behind the jointer are static phase convertors. I keep pushing the landlord to pull the third leg into my space and so far he hasn’t budged.

And, did you notice they said, “works great!”?
