Prescription and Safety Glass Holder

Sometimes you just gotta goof off. So it was the other day. I was tired of chasing my various glasses around and just didn’t feel like being productive and tending one of the many projects that needed my attention.

Put all the above together and this is what I came up with. Eventually, I make some more knobs, using T nuts, and swap out the ones seen in the photo.

Oh contrare, it, obviously, is underkill. I rushed and didn’t install another pivot at the actual rack ;)

Now thats a cool design.

Had to come back and say you should submit this to the different woodworking magazine s just a chance you could win a prize on this

Thanks for the idea Jeff. I thought it a bit crude for too much attention, but it could be played with.

Someone else suggested making it I-Pad friendly. Obviously, there is potential for many uses, including room for a phone. Obviously, if you ever raise your ceiling, you wouldn’t have to replace it.

See this is what I was saying this woodworker sent in a Idea for drawer dividers and received an air filtration system. This is from the new issue of Wood; issues 235

I have a couple dozen T nuts, but haven’t gotten around to making more knobs yet. When I do, I’ll replace the nuts with them.

interesting idea , I’m always looking for my safety glasses .

Silly, useless, absurd… In other words, AWESOME!!

Ah, the joy of embracing a little playfulness every now and then! We all need those moments of respite from our daily responsibilities. It sounds like you had a well-deserved break from the hustle and bustle, allowing yourself to indulge in a bit of fun. Your creative solution with the knobs looks fantastic! It's amazing how a small change can make a big difference. Keep up the great work!
Sweet!
Reminds me of the dentist office or the "probing room" on a UFO 😁

Whole new perspective on using available "wall" space.
That's cool - I need one of them for rifflers & rasps.
I feel like a slacker. Mine are in a Rubbermaid mini bin with a closeable lid. Virtually dust free while waiting for me to put them on, or offer them to a visitor. They hardly take up any shelf space at all.

I like the idea of an overhead tool rack at the bench, but also a fear of getting clunked on top of my haid. Crap happens, is all I can think of there.
Really cool, Kelly!  The ceiling is an untapped source of storage area...You did great!

great idea but with 10' to the rafters and a 10' high roll up door wont work for me.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.
