Old post vise

I need to change my ways. This old heavy stuff keeps following me home.

I want to mount this to a 4" steel i beam post in my basement. Any help is appreciated.

18" wide at top, 40 " tall, 4.5" jaws.

We had something like this on the farm. I'm trying to remember how it was mounted.

Are you going to clean it up? Paint it?

I will clean and get it lubed good, I doubt it will see paint.

IIRC, Duckmilk made something for mounting his on his metal working bench.
