re: Drum sander issue

Barb I don't have the Jet, so my answer may help, maybe there is a more direct answer though, hopefull some owners will chime it to get you going.

I believe it will come down to table adjustment for the snipe, and the paper application to your drum for the dished stock. The paper has to lay very close to the shape  of the drum on mine, or I will have issue. Sometimes new paper/cloth of a roll is really stiff, and getting it to mind takes more muscle than I like to bring to bear, but when I do press it down as I roll it on, the problem diminishes, or goes away.
