Walnut body, maple tires, brass covered parts are maple,   If interested I posted a blog on metal and wire I use on some of these models.  In the pics below the radiator was covered with brass before cutting to shape, cut out the middle, then used the cutoff as a mold to press a strip of brass to the edges.   I did use a thin piece of foam to fill the cut gap to "press" the edges to shape around the radiator.   I just experiment, and certainly appreciate any suggestions or recommendations from others.
