How it's made #1: Axle cabs

This is part 1 in a 3 part series: How it's made

From time to time I'm asked how I made some stuff for my models. In this series I will make a blog per component.

I will start with the axle cabs. These are expensive and/or difficult to buy in Europe and therefore almost all come from the USA.

On 2-5-25 (or 5-2-25)  I have changed this page.

Comments are very welcome.

Thanks for posting....I have a truck that my father in law had made many years ago that needs a few new axle pins. This is great!
Good post.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

I recognize a few of those steps in just making hole plugs 🤠

Everything is in the details, meticulous!
Nice description! That is some beautiful wood too!
I’m going to save this series of “How To” thank you Jan.

Jan, thank you for taking the time to bring this to us.  A terrific journey into making the parts and an insight into your subtle approach to the finished items.  Definitely a keeper.  Again, thank you.
Thank you for your comment.

Steve the used woods are Padouk and Beech.

Great post !!
Please tell me about the clamps you used?
The clamps on the drill press table are bought from AliExpress.
