Hello!

I’m Tim. I’m a former Paramedic, former Navy Corpsman, and I spent almost a year working in a refurbishing shop, where I did a little cleaning, soldering, shaping, and finishing, mostly stainless steel. (To be fair, I wasn’t all that good at the super-detail work; I’m better at making rough things that work.)

I like new and old tools, and will clean, grease, or paint anything that holds still long enough. I work in a variety of materials; wood, metal, stone, concrete, and plastic… master of none.

My wife and I are moving into the dream house in a few weeks. The house is big and beautiful and really close to the house we’d build if we won the Powerball tomorrow, so I won’t have a lot of cabinet work. We have a good size 2-plus car garage, and I’m going to spend a lot of time making that into a passable workshop.

My first planned projects include tiling end tables, building box planters and raised beds in the back yard, a fire feature, benches and shelves in the shop/garage. I’m looking forward to buying a new lathe, and restoring some antique power tools. (Hopefully we’ll be talking about bench lathes in the near future)

Tim

Welcome. I’m looking forward to seeing your creations. Be sure to post pictures of the workshop build. :-)

Cool. Sounds like good things are up and coming for you.

Careful with the lathe. I understand they are talking about starting up some AA type meetings for them.
