Good morning all. I’m just introducing myself. I’m obviously a new member and I’m responding to a request for an introduction.

I’m from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. (Suburb of Toronto) I’m looking forward to attending my first meeting of the Golden Horseshoe Woodturners Club this Thursday.

I’m 63 and I have many interests in woodworking. I tease that I try to never do one thing long enough to actually get any good at it. LOL.

Welcome Brian!

I’m off to the Hamilton, Ontario Wood Show today. I’m dreaming of spring when I can get back out in the garage. I just arranged to buy a brand new Rigid 14" band saw still in the box for $250.00. A friend was given it as payment for work he did and he doesn’t need it. I’m a happy boy.

Take some picture of the show and post them.

That’s a great buy for $250 especially new one.

Sorry, I didn’t think to take pix. What a poorly organized show. We took a vacation day to avoid the Saturday crowd and still we had to wait in line 45 minutes just to get into the parking lot, then wait in line to get in the door and buy tickets then another line for them to take the tickets. Once in its not a big show. There were more “vendors” hawking cleaning supplies, leather treatments and BBQ sauces than anything. Anyway I still subscribed to a magazine, Susie and I signed up for a carving class, we discovered a marquetry group that also has classes and Suzie has expressed an interest in joining my wood turning guild. OY. So much I want to do, so little time. I really need to win the lottery so I can focus on wood and its related toys. LOL. Over all it was a nice day out with my honey but a pox on these show organizers who are concentrating solely on making money and forget about providing a pleasant experience for the guests.

I hear you. The lines are consuming our lives.
