A Bunch of Bits of Tids About Sandpapper

Lots of good info here.

I got fatigued watching that video, on and on he went. Felt like I was jogging.

For my $$$$$$ Cubitron, or Extract for the win.

30 minutes to me has you standing rather than sanding for at least 10 minutes too long. Mine go trash can city at 20 minutes, sometimes less.

Interesting info.
I'm w/George on the 3M in general, stuff cuts fast when I post-sand to remove linear scratches from the drum sander.
I do keep using the discs "forever", but the well used discs are applied when I need to remove gunk (usually old finishes) and stuff that will plug a disc up.

My cheap stacks of bargain discs do tell how much they suck so they get used at the final grit (usually 320) and tossed so they run only for maybe 10 minutes.
Agreed, George, but bathwater and babies . . . .

I, finally, went down to the first post, where original posters load info, and found the link for charts that laid info out about the final score.

That said, I did make it through and there was some rock solid info in there that made it worth the whole show. Reminds me of a gal I knew, about 40 some years back. She'd drop a fortune on a seminar, but asserted just one bit of info made the investment, of time and money, worth while.

SIDE NOTE: When I used my Festool Rotex and cyclone to sand the 50 [or so] year old T-111 of our house, I only had to use about five of these for the whole thing. They are Festool creations and run at 36 grit. Perfect for a latex house paint job like I undertook.
