We would all like nice friends like that!
For a user, you just need the inside angle that rides the wood to be smooth and the blade sharp (and square).
The exterior rust is what you would remove to make it "nice" in the hand. OT has the right idea for a quick clean up and return to service.
Definitely a keeper!
