I really need to add some overhead duct work so that I can reduce the number of times I have to move hoses around, and, if nothing else, to make the cramped space safer so I do not have to step over or in some case duck under a hose, while a machine is setup for dust collection. It will also reduce the amount of hose that I have to coil up when I am not running the DC. Problem is that between the garage door and opener, haphazardly thought out shop lighting and other miscellaneous stuff on the ceiling (air filters and even a suspended shelf), it won't be a straight forward thing to do without completely reorganizing everything. Fortunately, there is actually a small attic space over half of my garage shop where I cut an access port several years ago so I could add insulation up there -- being a garage in the south there was none. My thinking at the moment is to put some rigid metal 4" pipe through the attic with a couple of drops where I can hook to different machines, my CNC, planer and table saw being the main ones that I have to use longish hoses to connect. The metal ducts that can handle the suction of the Supercell are a little pricey but I found
The Blast Gate Company whose listed price is about half of everywhere else, though the shipping cost could make up the difference, especially for my relatively small order. I have not contacted them yet to see what shipping will be. If shipping proves to be too expensive, I will likely just run the heavy duty vacuum rated flex hose that Oneida provides with the Supercell through the attic, though I may have to buy a little more of it to get everywhere I want it with drops, etc. Anyone bought anything from The Blast Gate Company?
