A lot of my best turning pieces come from the wood pile so I think you qualify. You are looking for nice pieces to make something out of aren't you.....LOL
My husband's the turner, but I have found some nice spalted oak that I'm saving for a special project! (Nearly all of the firewood is oak and it really isn't all that interesting for turning.)
