How ironic, I just saw these two weeks ago on FB that the wife showed me. She asked if I could make them. I looked at her and said do pigs love rolling in mud. Well that is on my list to make. Lol so that you did them how about giving some advice on them. Like all your secrets.
It does sure look great.

My wife showed me the face book pic of it too, the next day the page went down for some reason so I jumped right into it before my memory faded it to oblivion. The basic shape was easy. The details of the hynge and pivot were blurry so I did the best I could. I think the top is supposed to be 1-1/2" thick but mine is only 1". The diameter is a guess at 16", and should be smaller, maybe 14". Overall it’s not bad from only ever seeing 2 pictures for less than 30 seconds. If anyone has a facebook picture can you send me the link please. I posted mine on facebook and have a half dozen people wanting them made. I’m headed to the camp ground for the summer in a couple of weeks and want to be able to give them a link so they can buy one. Some measurements…wine bottle hole dia 3", glass hole 1-1/2", glass slot to the hole 1", overall height when installed 24", the notch the wine bottle sits on in the leg is 8". The rest is measured by what fits. The hynge pin is a maple dowel 1/4". I hope more people make them, they are easy to build. It took two hours including figuring out how to do it from memory.

The mechanism works as follows – It’s really just a couple of blocks as a base, and the leg pivots using a dowel, this is a kind of berring. Notice that the leg is placed off center to the top? The leg is attached closer to the edge of the top that has the bottle opening, allowing the weight of the round top to pivot and fall down towards the two glasses holes of the top. When you put the bottle in it actually rests on the notch in the leg, and any glass put in the other holes helps keep it opened, even tho the offset of the round wood keeps it open. On the edge of the notch I put a screw to keep the top folded when moving moving the assembly. Their is also a screw on the top of the leg to adjust the level of the top when it is deployed.

I have an additional couple of measurements for use if building one of these. The dowel that acts as the pivot pin is 1/4" maple. The diameter of the table top is 15-1/2". The notch depth is 8" but could be shallower to allow the wine bottle to protrude higher out of the table top. I have had a number of people request this item and I will be building more. I will post any improvements in design. It is going to be a popular camping item I believe.

Looks great – saw this on FB a few weeks ago and can’t find it back anymore – appreciate the measurements. Will have to give one a try this weekend!
