You can do a lot with a few tools. You can make some yourself. I made a pretty decent router table from an aldi quarter inch router and a car jack. Keep the faith and spend time in the shop.

Hey Kevin, don’t know how old you are or how long you’ve been doing woodworking but its like anything you do. The more you do it the better you get. Equipment comes over time. I can tell you its taken me thirty years to get my stuff and if you can start out using hand tools and perfect that art, the machines will aid in production speed. However, personally I believe working wood by hand actually looks better. I don’t know why but it does. I cant speak for others only myself. What ever you do dont be in a rush to get all your equipment. Look at yard sales, Craigslist, antique shops Etc.. for quality hand tool for less. And Google what your looking at if you don’t know if s a good choice or post it on here and ask us were here to help each other.

Jim, i am 41 and have been doing some woodworking on and off. I have not done any for around ten years or so. I’m getting back into it. And collecting tools slowly. I have done a little by hand, that skill takes sometime to get right. But I’m working on it. I have several questions but i will get into that later, but i know i can ask you all for help and get it. That’s why this is such a great site.
