Greetings, earthlings!

I figured I would get my first post out of the way as the email I got said it would be delayed somewhat. I come from a family of craftsmen: my grandfather was a precision machinist who as a young boy traveled the country setting up shops to make the machines of war (WWI); dad was an engineer and tinkerer. I have owned a construction company (many years ago) and have tinkered all my life. Largely retired (or long term unemployed, depending on how you want to look at it) I have taken to messing in the dream shop I built a couple years ago. I have a fairly complete line of tools & machines, including a number of vintage and antique, but like most woodworking folks I know I am always upgrading or adding here and there. Currently I’m looking to upgrade my cheap Chinese benchtop drill press so if anyone has any suggestions on that topic I’d be game to hear.

Thanks for allowing me to enter your playground. I look forward to learning from each and every one of you!

Welcome!

Welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy it as much as we all do. Have you taken any pics of your dream shop? Willing to share?

Welcome to the land of unemployment and unprofitable woodworking (for most of us anyway).
