^ ^ Drill holes into Leg and Chop for Leg Vise screw. ^ ^
^ ^ Router mortise into Leg Vise for screw retaining nut. ^ ^
^ ^ Install leg Vise chop and crisscross. ^ ^
^ ^ Build carpenters Vise chop & install. ^ ^
^ ^ Router & Install carpenters Vise from bottom. ^ ^
^ ^ Router & Install face Vise from bottom. ^ ^
^ ^ Drill dowel holes in legs for draw bore joint. ^ ^
^ ^ Drill dowel holes in stretchers for draw bore joint. ^ ^
^ ^ Glue legs & stretchers together. ^ ^
^ ^ Install and glue base to bench top in final shop location. ^ ^
^ ^ Purchase Lag bolts. ^ ^
^ ^ Drill holes on all corner edge joints and install Lag Bolts. ^ ^
^ ^ Glue or fill any cracks or separation in the bench top. ^ ^
^ ^ Hammer in dowels into draw bore holes. ^ ^
^ ^ Install wedges into top mortise & tenon leg joints. ^ ^
^ ^ Plane benchtop side face boards flush with leg faces. ^ ^
^ ^ Purchase plywood to match stretchers. ^ ^
^ ^ Build bottom shelf by laminating plywood. ^ ^
^ ^ Trim & install bottom shelf onto stretchers. ^ ^
^ ^ File the plane stop block holes inside edges. ^ ^
^ ^ Install wooden dowel bench dogs. ^ ^
^ ^ Drill all bench dog holes the rest of the way thru the top. ^ ^
^ ^ Install dog holes in Face Vise chop to match bench top dog holes. ^ ^
^ ^ Install the crochet crook in front left face to the left of leg Vise. ^ ^
^ ^ Trim end boards on tail Vise. ^ ^
^ ^ Install Purple Heart inlay around carpenters Vise base. ^ ^
^ ^ Purchase dowels for lag bolt holes. ^ ^
^ ^ Plug lag bolt holes with dowels. ^ ^
^ ^ Install tail Vise chop retainer under the bench top. ^ ^
^ ^ Drill and install lag bolts on board ends. ^ ^
^ ^ Replace lag bolts on carpenters Vise. ^ ^
^ ^ Build a deadman. ^ ^
^ ^ Install the deadman. ^ ^
^ ^ Router face Vise deeper from bottom. ^ ^
^ ^ Build face Vise chop & install. ^ ^
^ ^ Install rails and stretchers under bench top. ^ ^
^ ^ Drill holdfast storage holes in right front leg. ^ ^
Install dog holes in carpenters Vise chop and benchtop.
Build a router sled.
Router the top surface flat and level it using a router sled and rail system.
Build a deadman seat.
Install the seat.
Router or inlay any decorative Purple Heart accents.
Purchase 2 brass bench dogs for the tail/wagon Vise.
Purchase 2 Gramercy holdfasts for bench dog holes.
Final sanding.
Apply water based nitro cellulose finish.
Enjoy years of woodworking.

Thanks all. I’ve been working on it since I came home from camping, and it feels great to finally use it. I sit behind it everyday now, and am starting to do other projects now and I just love using it. I should have made this 30 years ago. I have used every Vise on it already, and even the crochet!

Added the Keifer idea seat today. It’s not quite the same but boy howdy does it work fine as kind.

My sanding crew arrived today,

It was great having the grandkids around to do some sanding. Everything below the benchtop. It was phenomenal hearing the 3 palm sanders running in unison, they cycled in harmony. Each of the boys went thru 6 sheets of sandpaper, about 45-50 mins. I love the fact that I can pay them in frozen yogurt. Now all I have left is to plane the top and apply the finish.
