Hi all.
Woodworking has been a passion of mine since I was a kid. My Dad used to take me to work with him when I didn’t have a babysitter and later when there was days off from school. He was a saw filer by trade and the logging company he worked for had a mechanic garage, a forge, an electrician shop, but the one place he could not keep me out of was the carpentry work shop. I would watch the carpenters build all kind of things and I wanted to help them all the time. They would give me small projects to do, mostly to keep me out of their hair, LOL. I remember some of them helping me build things like bird feeders and mail storage boxes. They took the time (company time) to teach me how to measure and figure out angles and that’s what got me started.
Woodworking is not my profession. I am a registered nurse, which is so very far from being a carpenter, however woodworking has always been my passion, my go to place to relax and create functional works of art. Wood is my medium to create, and I hope to pass these skills and passion down to my son. I bring him to the work shop as often as I can. That is our PA day thing to do.
