Pretty cool! In machine shop we would divide the width of a piece of metal by placing a scale at an angle across it. Say the piece of metal is 8" across, and you want to mark it in fifths. Match the scale to some multiple of five at each edge of the metal, and mark at the two-inch intervals. Works for wood, too. When the guy in the first video went to the "GS" setting, given what the approximate value would be, I guessed "Golden" but it took me a bit to remember "Section".
