re: The Beating Heart of the Shop

I with you here Paul. I am a big fan of multipurpose machines. I love my relatively cheap Kitty 5 function machine from Belgium. It is a real space saver in my small shop with it’s table saw, jointer, planer, mortiser and planer, It has done everything I have asked it to do and very well too. I’ve had it for almost 19 years. The only tool on it that I have hardly used is the shaper. It cuts beautifully, but the shaper blades are just too expensive compared to my router. I have it mounted on wheels and I can just spin it around when I have to to use the various functions as it is pretty lightweight.
