Bifold Closet Doors
When we built our home, we framed out closets which were not a standard size. We couldn’t purchase custom-sized doors to match our six-panel doors so I finally managed to build them. The closet openings are approximately 42” x 80”.
All the oak was cut and milled off our land and air-dried.
I recessed the barrel of the hinge to avoid the otherwise large gap the hinge creates. [I’m sorry that I can’t post a photo here to show how I did it.]
I always finish raised panels separately to avoid problems with potential shrinkage during seasonal changes. [No photos here either.]
The door levers match those of the other hardware in our home.
[And no close-up of the hardware. You’ll have to use your imagination!]

Out standing! Bifold is the way to go on these closets. So nice to see you added the wood from the outside of your property to your interior.
