Laser engraver storage box

I recently picked up a cheap, small laser engraver…mostly to add maker’s marks to projects. It’s a cheapy, chinesium tool recommended to me by a friend and found on Amazon. As with a lot of folks, I’m limited in space in the shop so I need something small. 

My experiences with the Shaper Origin have convinced me that, for me, small tools that I can place on top of a project (as opposed to table-style tools) work best for what I do. 

Regardless, the cardboard box it came in wasn’t going to work, so I knocked together this fitted storage box and burned it up a bit. A place for everything and everything in its place! 

Incidentally, since buying this engraver I find I use it all the time. Very simple phone based UI, and it’ll engrave anything on your camera roll, which makes life pretty easy. It’s got a pretty good set of on-tool font options as well. It’s a small diode laser so you’re not cutting much of anything, but it’s been great for engraving wood and leather. Max engraving size is about 4”x4” which is fine for me with what I do.
